Letter to members
Dear Fellow Members,
Today, I write to you with a great sense of commitment to request your support for a position on the Executive Committee of The Cricket Club of India. I have been a member of this great institution for [ NN ] years.
A Campion School and Sydenham College alumnus, I have spent over thirty-three years in the hospitality and manufacturing business. For fifteen of them I have carried responsibility on this Club’s committees, and on the Executive Committee itself. That work teaches you that members judge the Club not by what is announced, but by what is delivered.
The Children’s Christmas Carnival
I founded it, and every year since it has partnered with NGOs to bring thousands of underprivileged children into this Club for a day. It happens because someone stays with the detail until the day works.
Delivered at CCI
- Executive Committee Member, 2022–25.
- Entertainment Committee — Vice Chairman (2022–25), Hon. Secretary 10+ years.
- 15+ years of the Club’s flagship events — Diwali, Retro Music Nights, comedy and talent shows, live sports screenings and New Year’s Eve; shows by Zubin Mehta and A.R. Rahman; the annual Diwali Rangoli.
- Bar Committee — Vice Chairman (2022–25). A key role in completing 22 Yards, now one of the Club’s most popular destinations; growth at the Wet Wicket Bar; wine and beer at the poolside.
- Running & Wellness — Vice Chairman (2022–25), Member (2025–26). A thriving runner community built, with the Triathlon, the Drinkathon and the Café Trail.
- Balloting and Infrastructure — Member.
What I will do next
- Transparency and accountability — clear communication, professional governance and accountability.
- A better member experience — listen to members, act on feedback, and keep improving services and facilities.
- A modern CCI that keeps its heritage — modern systems and technology, CCI’s character protected, and the long-awaited Master Plan implemented.
- Sporting excellence — facilities upgraded, and coaching and sporting opportunities expanded for members of all ages.
- An inclusive and vibrant Club — greater participation by women, younger members and families; children and senior members valued.
- Responsible growth — development that is financially prudent, well planned, and delivers long-term value to members.
Build on what works, improve what doesn’t. I look forward to contributing in the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation. I would be grateful for your vote for the Executive Committee.
