Letter to members
Dear Fellow Members,
Today, I write to you with a great sense of commitment to request your support for a position on the Executive Committee of The Cricket Club of India. I have been a member of this great institution for 51 years.
Our Club is an iconic landmark of Mumbai. Over the last decades we have grown and improved by upgrading and adding various facilities for members. Having seen my children and grandchildren grow up at the Club has endeared this institution to my heart. My aim is to continue working with my colleagues to take it to new heights, for all our current members and also for future generations.
Walk the talk
I am available at the Club most mornings and evenings — walking, in the gym, at the lawns. Happy to receive your suggestions and inputs.
Delivered at CCI
- Rooftop solar, 986 KWp. About 30% of the Club’s power now comes from the sun.
- CCI reclassified from Recreation Ground to Sports Complex in the Draft Development Plan 2034 — unlocking FSI, so the Club can build what it needs.
- The Men’s Saloon and the Lakme Salon, planned and executed. EV charging for members.
- Vice Chairman, Human Resources (2024–25) — an IT-enabled HRMS initiated for the Club.
- Vice Chairman, Information Technology — my current responsibility.
- Live now — online takeaway food ordering, spa and massage booking, event tickets.
- Commissioned — the new website and CCI app, facial recognition at the gates, gym personal training, and court and marker booking for all sports.
What I will do next
- A long-term Master Plan for the development and upgrading of every Club facility, including car parking.
- A sustainable CCI — rainwater harvesting, solid waste management, recycling, and sewage and effluent treatment.
- New sports and all-weather play — padel and pickleball, and covered courts for tennis and open-air sport.
- A stronger IT backbone — a table, a court or a sports session booked at the click of a button.
- Professional management, actively backed, with clear remits and clear service standards.
- A Club that welcomes all — younger members engaged, and the accessibility, health and social needs of senior members kept firmly in mind.
- Communication, both ways. I will keep seeking members’ input directly, and make sure members hear back.
